Can uPVC Windows Be Recycled?

Yes, uPVC windows can be recycled! For years, plastic has had negative connotations with it when it comes to the environment. However, we are here to change people’s perceptions of uPVC windows and raise awareness of uPVC window recycling. uPVC profiles can be recycled up to ten times, providing a total of around a 350-year lifespan.

With our innovative recycling scheme, manufacturers can provide eco-friendly uPVC windows to their customers that boast the same benefits as brand-new windows. By investing in sustainable materials, we can all reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill and help to protect our planet.

Here at VEKA Recycling, we are specialists across Europe and the UK in uPVC window recycling. We work with both waste companies and manufacturers to become more sustainable and provide home and property owners with eco-friendly uPVC windows. Our sister company, VEKA Compounds, provide contamination-free pellets to our list of approved extruders.

Why Recycle PVC Windows?

For years we have all been aware of our effect on the environment and have been slowly making changes to the way we act. We have always been taught to reduce, reuse and recycle. The same goes with uPVC windows. Once uPVC windows become unusable, they often get left to landfill, which can be overfilled, damaging our planet.

By recycling uPVC windows, we can limit the amount of waste that ends up in landfill and reduce the need for brand-new products to be made. When manufactured, each uPVC window has a 30-40 year life cycle. By recycling each uPVC windows up to ten times, we can use the same window for over 300 years, which is a fantastic incentive.

Once anyone disposes of their waste, whether that’s to a tip or standard bins, we often don’t think about where it ends. It is costly to keep waste in landfill, which harms our economy. By reducing the amount of waste in landfill, we can help to improve our economy and save money.

For manufacturers, by showing that you are committed to using more sustainable products, you can offer your customers environmentally friendly uPVC windows that are the best financial option for them. There are a variety of reasons why recycling uPVC windows are beneficial and should be considered by everyone.

We have designed an advanced recycling process that covers every basis to make it easier for our customers. We offer free collection and bags for your windows so that when we pick it up, it is seamless for anyone that we are collecting uPVC windows from.

Legal Requirements

In recent years, there has been more legislation on ways to become more environmentally friendly. Businesses must comply with these regulations as it means that we can watch how we manage products and the waste that we produce.

By choosing us to recycle your old uPVC windows and doors, you contribute to us meeting these standards. We believe that this is a collaborative effort and that we should all be finding ways to be better for the environment.

uPVC Recycling Process

The uPVC recycling process starts by collecting the uPVC windows. We take low emission trucks and drive strategically not to spend excess time on the roads. We are based in

Northampton, a location with great transport links across the UK.

Once the uPVC windows reach our sorting facility, the products are broken down by size to make them more controllable. We then filter out any non-uPVC material to ensure that we are left with a clean and pure size.

We continue to sort by size and remove any hardware and metals. Our sister company, VEKA compounds, uses their melt-filtration system to turn the uPVC into contamination-free pellets.
