How To Dispose Of uPVC Windows

There are many ways to dispose of your tired uPVC windows. Often, they end up in landfill, which is costly and damaging to the environment. We are here to change that and to help homeowners and tradespeople becoming more environmentally friendly. Our uPVC windows recycling process has been developed to provide manufacturers with high-quality pellets that excel in performance.

uPVC windows are becoming increasingly popular amongst homeowners due to their rigidity and insulation benefits. These profiles can last for up to 35 years and can be recycled up to ten times, a total lifespan of 350 years. By recycling uPVC windows, we can minimise any unnecessary wastage going into landfill.

Here at VEKA Recycling, we work with our sister company VEKA Compounds, to change how we dispose of our uPVC windows. After our extensive recycling process, we compress the parts down into pellets sold to manufacturers. If you want to get rid of your old uPVC windows, get in touch with us to find out more.

Our Aim

We are industry leaders in recycling old and tired uPVC windows. Since 1993, we have been known in Europe for our innovative recycling, before starting the initiative in the UK in 2007. uPVC is an excellent profile that can provide homeowners with a range of practical benefits, including security and thermal performance.

Our aim is to provide customers with a way to dispose of their tired uPVC windows eco-friendly. We knew that any recycled uPVC would still boast the same performance and longevity for homes across the UK. Each part of our process is planned to be as environmentally friendly as possible, from collection to our filtration system.

We decided to base our recycling plant in Northamptonshire due to its proximity to transport links to the rest of the country. Our friendly team is dedicated to providing reliable and professional service to have peace of mind that you have chosen a trusted company. So far, we have achieved:

  • 3,000,000 tones on CO2 saved.
  • 25,000 uPVC windows recycled
  • 5000 refitted uPVC units

uPVC Recycling Process

Getting rid of your old uPVC windows couldn’t be easier. We offer a free pick up service alongside disposal bags. Our drivers plan routes that avoid unnecessary time on the road to reduce the level of emissions. Each year, more vehicles use LPG (liquified petroleum gas), a more energy-efficient alternative than diesel.

Once your uPVC windows reach our facility, we start by shredding the material into smaller pieces, sorted by size. You do not have to worry about removing locks or additional hardware, as we have the technology to do this for you. We want you to have a hassle-free experience with us.

We continue to sort by size and remove any non-uPVC materials to produce clean material that we can compress. The final stage of our recycling process is by using our melt filtration system to turn the materials into contamination-free pellets. We then pass these on to our approved list of extruders.
