uPVC Waste Recycling
VEKA take pride in offering a uPVC waste recycling process to help create a more sustainable environment. You can recycle your old uPVC windows and doors and we will repurpose them in our supply chain. We started our market leading company back in the UK in 2007 and have been perfecting our waste recycling process ever since.
When you replace your old windows and doors, you likely throw your old ones in a skip and forget about them. However, doing this, they are then thrown into overstretched landfills which are affecting the environment. Our aim is to create a uPVC waste recycling process to prevent the overuse of landfills and recycle your old windows and doors where possible.
Once your uPVC windows or doors have reached the end of their 30-40 year lifespan, we can go onto shred and compress them into pellets. The pellets can then be extruded into uPVC to repurpose into new premium grade windows and doors. Our uPVC waste recycling process can be repeated up to ten times, meaning that one window or door could be used for over 300 years.
uPVC Waste Recycling Process
Our uPVC waste recycling process is carried out in four simple steps. We will come to collect your old uPVC windows and doors from you or you can drop them at our HQ. We are happy to take any off-cuts created in your manufacturing process too! Our uPVC recycling process can be discussed with you to find out the best way you can use our service. Don’t worry about removing metal components or separating colour, we can do this for you!
At our recycling centre, we will put your uPVC waste through a mechanical shredder. Any metals and magnetic materials are removed in the next stage of the process, including the handles and hardware. Our state-of-the-art machinery will then separate the pieces into colours and reduce the size into easy to handle pieces.
The final stage of the process is the compression stage where the materials are organised into relevant sections. The system will then pelletise the pieces. where the filtration system will then transform the uPVC into contamination-free pellets. These pellets are small, round pieces that can then be turned into brand new uPVC doors and windows for the ultimate uPVC waste recycling process.
